The Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl LX

The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions once again, claiming their second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history with a dominant 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The Seahawks (14-3 entering the postseason) delivered a wire-to-wire performance, building a commanding lead behind their elite "Dark Side" defense and opportunistic offense. They held the Patriots scoreless through the first three quarters, allowing just 13 points late in the game. The total game score was Seahawks 29, Patriots 13.

Seattle's defense was the story of the night, sacking Patriots quarterback Drake Maye six times, forcing two interceptions, and generating constant pressure that disrupted New England's rhythm. Standout plays included a late pick-six by linebacker Uchenna Nwosu off a tipped pass from cornerback Devon Witherspoon, sealing the blowout. The unit limited Maye and the Patriots to minimal production, with Seattle's front seven--including sacks from Derick Hall (2), Byron Murphy II (2), Witherspoon, and rookie Rylie Mills--overwhelming the line of scrimmage.

Offensively, running back Kenneth Walker III earned Super Bowl MVP honors with a strong performance on the ground and in the passing game, leading the charge in controlling the clock and setting up scoring opportunities. Quarterback Sam Darnold managed the game efficiently, connecting on key throws while avoiding turnovers against a tough Patriots defense.

The Seahawks scored steadily: a field goal in the first quarter, additional points in the second for a 9-0 halftime lead, another field goal in the third, and a decisive 17-point fourth quarter that included their first touchdown--a strip-sack recovery returned for points--and a late defensive score.

This marked Seattle's first championship since Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, avenging their Super Bowl XLIX loss to the Patriots in dramatic fashion. Head coach Mike Macdonald, in his second season, was praised for the defensive masterclass, while the team celebrated with confetti and the trophy presentation on the field.

Fans in Seattle and across the Pacific Northwest erupted in joy, with parades and rallies planned in the days following. The win capped a remarkable season for the Seahawks, who entered as the NFC's top seed and never trailed in the title game. The Patriots, despite a strong run to the AFC Championship, fell short in their bid for a record seventh Super Bowl title.
