Dow Down, Lanzatech Global Up

finance • 2026-04-07

LanzaTech Global shares rose $9.46 to end the day at $27.46 per share.

The indices were mixed today with the Dow falling and the NASDAQ and S&P rising.

The NASDAQ rose 21.51 points.

The DOW fell 85.42 points.

The S&P rose 5.02 points.

Stocks swung sharply during the session as investors reacted to rising tensions tied to the Iran conflict and a deadline related to the Strait of Hormuz, but the market recovered late in the day. The Dow still finished lower, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq managed small gains, reflecting a cautious and uneven tone rather than a broad rally.

All this as LanzaTech Global shares rose $9.46 to end the day at $27.46 per share. LanzaTech Global is a carbon-management and carbon-recycling company that uses proprietary gas-fermentation technology to convert industrial emissions, carbon dioxide, and gasified waste into ethanol, which can then be turned into products such as sustainable aviation fuel and other chemicals. The company describes its mission as creating "a new carbon economy" by turning waste carbon into usable feedstocks.

The move appears to have been a sharp continuation of investor enthusiasm following LanzaTech's March 31 fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 results, which highlighted $55.8 million in 2025 revenue, a narrower full-year net loss, lower operating expenses, and strategic progress tied to LanzaJet.

LanzaTech's rally was amplified by the stock's structure and trading activity.
