New Press Secretary Katie Zacharia Fired on Fourth Day
GRAND RAPIDS, MI.- New press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired from her tenure on her fourth day. This makes her the shortest serving press secretary in U.S. history.
She was appointed to the role to fill the vacancy left by former press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. Leavitt was appointed to the role as the youngest press secretary in U.S. history, taking the podium at the beginning of President Trump's second term that began on January 20, 2025.
Zacharia was marred by scandal beginning on her first day on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 where pundits criticized her awkwardness at the podium. Text messages obtained by the Wall Street Journal also showed where administration officials criticized her for appearing unprepared on her first day.
During her four day tenure, Zacharia was scandalized for misrepresenting herself as an attorney even though she never passed the California Bar exam or any other state or foreign bar exam. Records revealed she failed the California Bar Exam and never retook it.
Zacharia is the fourth woman ejected from the Trump administration this year following a wave of scandalous allegations. She joins Kristi Noem, former Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Pam Bondi, former U.S. Attorney General, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, former ambassador to Greece who was denied a final farewell from Greece president, Konstantinos Tasoulas.
